West Michigan Neurodiversity Coaching
Personalized neurodiversity coaching for professionals and higher education students.
Neurodiversity noun (nu̇r-ō-də-ˈvər-sə-tē): The many variations in how humans sense, focus, perceive, process, respond, and learn.
Why Focus on Neurodiversity?
Because truly understanding our cognitive differences and using them to our benefit is a critical factor in our overall wellbeing and performance.
So What’s Holding Us Back?
- We are acutely aware of the problems some of our cognitive differences can cause us.
- We are less aware of any good use for these differences.
- Since we only see these cognitive differences as problems, we try to disconnect from them and keep them hidden.
But that approach doesn’t help. It just leads to more disconnection.
- Disconnected from others we perceive as “normal”.
- Disconnected from ourselves because there are parts of us we’re locking away.
- And disconnected in spirit because we blame or shame ourselves for not “fixing” our differences.
At Weatherproof Wellbeing, We Focus On Reconnecting
- Reconnecting with others.
- Reconnecting with yourself.
Not by erasing or hiding your differences. But by understanding and leveraging your differences through the lens of neurodiversity.
Neurodiversity and Wellbeing
Many neurovariants (both neurodivergent and neurotypical) have the potential to be helpful or harmful to a person’s wellbeing depending on how they are managed and flexed in daily life. For instance, people born or conditioned with neurovariants like higher impulsivity or risk tolerance might thrive as athletic competitors but struggle with professional or personal expectations off the court, field, or track.
High impulsivity and high risk tolerance are just two neurovariants among countless others that carry immense value or consequences depending on how well they are understood and expressed in daily life.
Neurodiversity Coaching at Weatherproof Wellbeing
Neurodiversity coaching at Weatherproof Wellbeing focuses on helping professionals or higher education students gain a better understanding and leverage over their own personal neurovariants (regardless of whether they are considered neurodivergent, neurotypical, or otherwise).
Specifically, we’ll focus on what’s working in your favor and what’s working against you in your professional or academic life and in your overall wellbeing.
Then we’ll start getting you reconnected by exploring practical strategies that fit your style, work environment, and goals.

What Clients Can Expect
Neurodiversity coaching should give you room to think, speak honestly, and explore possibilities without feeling forced into a one-size-fits-all program. Weatherproof Wellbeing offers a down-to-earth environment where you can:
01
Show up as you are.
You do not need to hide your differences, rehearse the “right” answers, or pretend that everything is going well.
02
Feel genuinely heard and supported.
Aaron approaches coaching with curiosity, honesty, and compassion informed by his own experiences as a neurodivergent professional.
03
Collaborate with an experienced leader.
You will work with someone who understands that professional, interpersonal, and neurovariation challenges often require thoughtful and creative solutions.
04
Identify strengths and obstacles.
Neurodiversity coaching can help you recognize the abilities you can build upon as well as the patterns, environments, or expectations that may be getting in your way.
05
Experiment with practical strategies.
Together, you and Aaron will explore approaches that fit your personality and circumstances rather than pressuring you to follow methods that feel unnatural or unsustainable.
06
Learn and adapt over time.
Not every strategy works perfectly on the first attempt. Coaching creates a space to evaluate what is helping, adjust what is not, and continue moving forward.
In addition to the insight you’ll gain through Aaron’s friendly and thoughtful dialogue, you may also be offered scientifically validated tools such as personality or wellbeing assessments to assist with self-understanding and reflection. These tools, along with any other suggested strategies for discovery or improvement, may always be declined with zero hurt feelings or pushback. Rather than asking you to conform to a rigid system, Aaron works alongside you to explore practical strategies that fit your style, work environment, and goals.
Aaron offers a supportive environment with several beautiful locations for you to choose from based on your preferences. There, you’ll begin the process of self-discovery as you work through the challenges in front of you, bring more of your strengths to the surface, and level up your prospects for professional or academic achievement along with improved wellbeing.

West Michigan Neurodiversity Coaching FAQs
What is neurodiversity coaching?
Coaching in general is a collaborative process that helps you identify goals, understand obstacles, explore possible solutions, and take practical steps toward greater wellbeing. Neurodiversity coaching helps professionals or higher education students gain a better understanding and leverage over their own personal neurovariants in relation to their professional or academic environment. Weatherproof Wellbeing adapts the coaching process to each client rather than relying on a standardized program.
Is neurodiversity coaching only for neurodivergent clients?
No. Aaron specializes in neurodiversity coaching for professionals and students who are looking for strategies to better understand and leverage their differences – regardless of whether they are considered neurodivergent, neurotypical, or otherwise. It is important to recognize that a wide range of neurovariants exists even within the neurotypical population, and neurotypical people also struggle to understand and leverage their differences.
Weatherproof Wellbeing also welcomes any adult seeking creative strategies to better understand and use their unique abilities.
Can neurodiversity coaching help with workplace or academic challenges?
Yes. Neurodiversity coaching can help you explore workplace or school-related concerns such as communication difficulties, professional confidence, decision fatigue, burnout, team conflict, differences in working styles, or difficulty making your ideas and contributions heard.
The strategies you develop will depend on your role, work environment, personality, goals, and specific circumstances.
Is neurodiversity coaching the same as therapy?
No. Neurodiversity coaching generally focuses on goals, personal development, practical strategies, and forward-looking action. Therapy is a clinical service used to assess and treat mental health conditions.
Weatherproof Wellbeing does not provide psychotherapy, medical treatment, medical advice, diagnoses, or crisis services. Some clients may choose to participate in coaching and therapy separately when both are appropriate.
Are coaching sessions available virtually?
Yes. Clients can choose between in-office, off-site, and virtual coaching sessions. This flexibility allows you to select the setting in which you feel most comfortable.
What is nature-based coaching?
Nature-based coaching takes the conversation outside, offering an alternative to a traditional office or virtual setting. When appropriate and requested by the client, outdoor coaching is available at no additional charge.
What happens during the first coaching session?
The first session gives you and Aaron an opportunity to discuss the challenges you are facing, what you would like to improve, and what a successful coaching relationship might look like. You can begin identifying priorities and exploring strategies that align with your needs and personality.
How do I know whether Weatherproof Wellbeing is right for me?
Weatherproof Wellbeing may be a good fit if you want a supportive, collaborative coaching experience that respects your individuality. You can fill out a contact form or call Aaron for an introductory conversation that can help you determine whether Aaron’s background, coaching style, and services align with what you need.
